Ambiwerra Facility Upgrade
The Ambiwerra Sports Grounds redevelopment has commenced. This has been in planning for a number of years and at completion will see the additional of:
- Café
- Indoor Basketball / Netball Courts
- 50m Swimming Pool and Aquatic Centre
- 6 Lit Tennis Courts + 2 Tennis / Multi Courts (8 Total)
The project is staged and commencing in 2022 is stage 2.
Stage 3 is set to commence in 3 - 4 years.
Stage 2: Tennis - 8 Tennis Courts + 2 Multi (Lit)
Stage 3: Tennis - 6 Tennis Courts + 2 Multi (Lit)
Proposed Work Schedule 2022:
- Courts 1 & 2 to be demolished
- Courts 3 & 4 - Remain unchanged
- Courts 5 - 10 - Resurfaced Tennis Only
- Court 5 - 10 - New Fencing & Retractable Screens
- Court 7 - 10 - Upgraded Lighting to LED
- 2 New Courts Built, Lit and Surfaced for Multi Use
- Additional Hitting Wall Constructed
Weather permitting all the above work should be completed by November 25th.
We thank you for your patience during this time as we will have disruptions of available courts. It is existing to have the facility updated and renewed however we understand that members will have less access.
To assist members get the most from their memberships we will be allow members to book Spring Hill Tennis Centre with their Membership. This will be available until works concluded at the end of November.
Members will have access to Indooroopilly Tennis Centre, Spring Hill Tennis Centre and Ambiwerra Tennis Centre.
